Alex was willing to come into my studio for a portrait. I try to capture more than just a picture of someone smiling at the camera. I want to create a portrait that speaks to who they are at that time in their life. Black and white portraits are my favorite and this was part of a project of capturing 365 portraits in 365 days. He really took the time to sit and talk with me. He opened up about life and we found we share a lot of the same hopes, dreams, as well as fears. The look in his eyes as he is describing what had been happening during the previous months really spoke to me. As soon as he turned his head and got that look in his eyes, I knew I had the portrait I was hoping for. I can't thank him enough for coming to my portrait studio in Sparks, MD.
