If you haven’t heard about The Peake Tour, it was a marathon event my brother put together to raise money for Outward Bound. They do an amazing job helping at risk youth all over the country. The event took place over six days. They started at the Washington Monument on September 18th and finished back at the Monument on the 23rd. It consisted of a 216 mile bike ride, 100 mile sail, 43 mile kayak and a 27 mile run.
I was with them for the first two days as support and followed them from DC to Cape Charles, Virginia. At that point they started the sail and left me behind. I wish I could have followed them all week but work calls. And from what I hear the sail was none too pleasant and took 24 hours longer than hoped. I guess full day of 25 knot head winds will do that to you.
It was an AMAZING feat and here are a few shots from the first day.
